The Poem That Is Not
Ladies and germs and baldheaded worms, I come before you to stand behind you to tell you something I know nothing about. Next Friday is mother's day. A meeting will be held for fathers only. The admission is free so pay at the door. There are plenty of seats so sit on the floor. This is the middle of my speech. Christopher Columbus sailed the Mississippi river in 1963. One bright morning in the middle of the night two dead boys got up to fight; back to back they faced each other, drew out there swords and shot each other. A deaf policeman heard the noise came and shot the two dead boys. If you don't believe my lies are true ask the blind man he saw it too.
Hark, a blind man came upon an apple tree. He took no apples off, he left no apples on. How can this be?.....................
He is blind, he never saw the apple tree.
